Greencroft Bottling is one of the largest contract wine bottlers in the UK.
We are capable of filling up to 90,000 bottles and boxes of wine per hour, equivalent to around 105 million litres per year. Working with some of the world’s leading wine companies, we pride ourselves on our outstanding quality and attention to detail with a dedicated Quality Assurance team and, as such are BRC Grade AA+ rated.
Our high-tech production lines enable us to pack a range of products in a variety of formats including 187ml glass and PET, 37.5cl, 50cl, 70cl, 75cl, 1l and 1.5l. We can also fill 2.25 litre, 3 litre and 18 litre bag-in-box, and both keg and pouches. We are in the process of installing a canning line, initially focusing on 200ml and 250ml slimline can formats. We expect our first production in summer 2019.
Our business continues to grow and we have embarked on ambitious plans to develop a purpose built £20million, 220,000 ft2 (20,439m2) bottling facility at our main site in County Durham. With work set to be completed in 2020, Greencroft Two will be the most modern and environmentally sustainable wine bottling facility in the world, housing new filling lines – including canning and sparkling – and increasing capability to 400 million litres per year.
Sustainability is important to us and we believe every business has a duty of care to minimise its impact on the environment. The Lanchester Group has invested over £8million in renewable energy and heat generation and, as such , our facility is predominantly powered by renewable wind energy, generated by our three on-site wind turbines. We are continuing this ethos in our new Greencroft Two facility which will also use power from our wind turbines as well as 1,000,000 Watts of solar panels on its south facing roof.
